Daniel Saint Don
Dan has over 30 years of operational and technical experience in Canada, the United States and various international projects. This includes responsibilities in mine operations, engineering, contracting services, due diligence review, and project development. He is currently on the board of Graphex Mining Ltd. as a non-executive director and has held progressive roles of responsibility with Golder Associates, Atna Resources, DMC Mining Services, Boart Longyear Company, Stillwater Mining Company, Inmet Mining, and Mosaic, (formerly IMC). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Michigan Technological University, and an MBA from Westminster college in Salt Lake City. Daniel is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario, (P.Eng.).
James Beams (Independent Director)
James Beams joined North River having previously spent 14 years with Anglo American plc. For his final five years at Anglo American he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Copper division, and prior to that served in several senior management positions within the company. Prior to his time at Anglo American, he held senior finance roles at Minorco and Commercial Union.
Ken Sangster was trained as a metallurgist and has 49 years experience in the mining industry in a number of highly successful project development / project management roles ranging in project size from USD20M to USD600M. He previously worked in numerous senior roles for Rio Tinto plc for over 15 years, as well having metallurgy focused project development roles for Anglo American PLC, Consolidated Gold Fields, Outokumpu Metals and Resources, TVX Gold and Ivernia plc. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
Mark Sawyer is a Senior Partner at Greenstone Capital LLP and a co-founder of Greenstone Resources LP ("Greenstone"), the private equity fund. Mark co-founded Greenstone in 2013 after a 18 year career in the mining sector including as co-head of group business development at Xstrata plc, and senior roles at Rio Tinto plc and Cutfield Freeman & Co Ltd. Together with Greenstone's co-founder, Mark oversees all aspects of the management of the business. He serves as a director of Greenstone Management Ltd, the fund's General Partner, and is a member, and co-Chairman, of the Investment Committee.
Ricardo De Armas
Ricardo De Armas joined Castlelake in 2016 as part of the Emerging Markets team, focused on investments in the emerging markets. Prior to joining Castlelake, Mr. De Armas was a vice president at De Jong Capital, where he focused on deep value investments and provided restructuring and financial advisory. Prior to De Jong Capital, Mr. De Armas was a principal at Zaff Capital, where he focused on special situation investments in emerging markets. Prior to joining Zaff Capital, Mr. De Armas was an associate with Citigroup in the Latin American investment banking group in New York, where he advised companies in a wide range of industry sectors on financial and strategic matters. Prior to that, Mr. De Armas worked for Procter & Gamble in Caracas, Venezuela as a financial analyst and cost manager for a variety of brands in Latin America.
Managing Director (Namibia)
Martin Tjipita joined North River Resources in August 2019 from Imerys Gecko Holdings where he was the CEO and
Mine Manager. Martin previously spent 11 years in the Uranium industry as General Manager Operations for Rossing
Uranium and in various capacities from Maintenance Engineer to Deputy General Manager at Langer Heinrich Uranium
Mine; a member of the Paladin Energy Ltd group. Prior to this time, he worked for Nampower, Namwater, Namdeb and
CDM in various positions.
Andre Nel in a Chartered accountant with experience in a wider Financial legal and commercial field, including Corporate Finance disciplines. Andre joined North Rivers Resources in July 2019. Prior to this, Andre was the owner of a financial support services company, and has over 20 years national and international Mining and manufacturing experience in Africa and Europe, including with De Beers, Anglo American, Norilsk Nickel & Barloworld Equipment.
Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Danie Mostert is a Mechanical Engineer with a formal qualification as a Marine Engineer and has 39 years’ experience in mining and process plant projects, from engineering to construction and commissioning. Before joining Namib Lead and Zinc Mining in March 2018, he had spent 20 years with Rössing Uranium, 7 years with Langer Heinrich Uranium, 3 years with Gecko Namibia, 3 years as Consultant and 6 years working in Mechanical Contracting industry in Namibia.
Elvid Kaveru is a qualified Mining Engineer with base metal experience, extending over 8 years of underground mining at RoshPinah Zinc Corporation. He worked in various capacities up to Head of Mining Production before joining the NLZM as the Mining Manager. Elvid also worked as an Explosives Engineer for Sasol Namibia. Elvid holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from University of Pretoria (2012), Senior Management Development Program from University of Stellenbosch (2014) and Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control from Chamber of Mine S.A. (2014).
Kudakwashe Hartzenberg has 16 years of experience in financial services, oil & gas, mining and FCMG in which she held positions from management accountant to senior management roles where she was responsible for the entire finance function and has also provided consulting services to the Ministry of National Planning Commission. Kudakwashe holds a B. Accounting (University of Namibia), MBA (University of Stellenbosch Business School), Advanced Diploma Management Accounting (CIMA UK). She has completed the International Executive Development Program (IEDP) with the University of Witwatersrand Business School in partnership with the London Business School and Bangalore Business School in India.
Daan van Staden
Daniel van Staden is a chemical engineer with 16 years’ experience in the Namibian mining industryBefore joining Namib Lead & Zinc in March 2020, he spent 9 years working for Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation first as Senior Metallurgist and then Plant Manager overseeing processing operations, upgrades and optimization. Prior to that he spent 7 years working for Skorpion Zinc in various production and technical roles. Daan holds a BTech degree in Chemical Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Mineral Resource Manager
Sydney has over 14 years in mineral extractive industry, mainly in hard rock environment (both in open pit and underground) for various commodities such as gold, uranium and base metals. Before joining NLZM, he worked for 9 years at AngloGold Ashanti’s various operations (Navachab Gold Mine, Namibia; Obuasi Gold Mine, Ghana and Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania) and 5 years at Swakop Uranium (Husab Uranium Mine), Namibia. Sydney received a BSc (Hon) in 2005 from Stellenbosch and Post graduate diploma (Mining Engineering) in 2013 from Wits University. He is a professional member of AUSIMM, SAIMM, GASA, GSN.
